Pharmacy Assistant
About the role
We are looking for dependable team members with flexible availability and the ability to respond to short notice shifts. This position is in Holy Cross Manor, within the northwest community of Evanston in Calgary, Alberta, where our Pharmacy services are delivered across the organization. The site supports integrated patient care within a fast-paced healthcare environment, helping ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication management for patients and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams across the broader Covenant Health network.

Our Pharmacy team provides specialized patient care through collaboration to support each patient’s wellbeing. The Pharmacy Assistant is responsible for a variety of medication-related duties. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 408 St. Michael's Collective Agreement.
Responsibilities
- Ordering, preparation, packaging, shipping, distribution, and maintenance of controlled medication inventories
Requirements
- High School diploma or recognized equivalent required
- Recent experience in a community, hospital, or centralized medication preparation setting with demonstrated knowledge of medication distribution processes and pharmacy workflow
- Proficient with technology and ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in teams and independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Pharmacy Assistant course
- Experience using Epic, with familiarity in Connect Care workflows
- Experience with Kroll, AutoMed, or other pharmacy automation and dispensing technologies
- Experience supporting medication distribution to healthcare facilities such as hospitals or care centers
Pay
Minimum Salary: $22.55 per hour
Maximum Salary: $25.90 per hour
Employee Class: Casual/Relief
