Pharmacist - Specialty – St. Peter's Hospital

Position Summary

The pharmacist-specialty is a hybrid clinical pharmacist and sterile compounding lead position. The pharmacist – specialty must:

• Be proficient in accurately verifying medication orders and dispensing medications
• Affirms safe, effective, and economical use of medications
• Reviews and evaluates medication orders
• Maintains patient medication therapy
• Effectively and appropriately communicates with providers
• Safely stores, prepares, dispenses medications
• Provides medication counseling for patients and drug information for providers
• Offers leadership to pharmacy technicians and precepts students and/or residents (at least 1 annually) and new hires
• Facilitates inventory control
• Offers drug information support to pharmacy staff
• Consistently supports daily pharmacy workflow by answering operational questions
• Covers on call when necessary

Experience Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Sterile compounding certificate is preferred
• Three years of hospital experience including sterile compounding experience

Education Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
• New York State License and Registration

Pay Range

Pay Range: $56.00 - $72.30 Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
