Responsibilities
- Fill and dispense medication orders.
- Handle, use, and store drugs according to department standards.
- Provide information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug-related information.
- Coordinate drug therapies with the medical staff and nursing teams.
- Participate in the Antibiotic Stewardship Program to ensure patient safety and public health.
- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients across various age groups.
- Lead in the absence of the Director as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college/school of pharmacy.
- Current, valid, and active license to practice as a Pharmacist in the state of employment.
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred.
- Experience with pharmacokinetics and anticoagulation preferred.
- TPN experience preferred.
- Current, valid and active BLS and ACLS certifications from a Vibra-approved vendor.
- Previous acute care experience preferred.
- Automated pharmacy dispensing experience preferred.
- IV Laminar flow hood experience preferred.
- Electronic medical records experience preferred.
- Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
Qualifications/Skills
- Ability to work independently when needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in computer and software applications used in job functions.
Pay
Compensation and benefits will be commensurate with experience.
