Pharmacist - Per Diem

About the role

This position involves reviewing prescription orders, verifying their accuracy, and dispensing medications under the supervision of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.

Responsibilities

• Reviews prescription orders in conjunction with I/Is information and records.
• Verifies accuracy of drug, dosage, and quantity prescribed; determines suitability based on I/Is history and other medications.
• Fills and labels prescriptions, identifying the drug, dosage, directions for use, and precautions.
• Packages, labels, and dispenses medications in bulk quantities for distribution.
• Maintains storage areas and inventory levels; orders, receives, and inspects medications and supplies to ensure proper storage, labeling, and removal of expired or damaged products.

Requirements

• Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
• Experience Required: 1 year
• License Required: NY State Pharmacist License

Qualifications

• Possession of a license and current registration to practice Pharmacy in New York State
• One year of service as a Pharmacist

Skills

• Proficiency in reviewing prescription orders
• Ability to verify medication accuracy and suitability
• Knowledge of prescription filling and labeling procedures
• Experience with inventory management and supply ordering

Hourly rate is calculated by years of experience as a Pharmacist and geographic pay is also additional for the rate.
