Pharmacist Manager

Summary

The Pharmacy Manager oversees the pharmacy's operations, ensures compliance with regulations, manages finances and personnel, and provides patient care services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Registers with state board of pharmacy as supervising pharmacist or pharmacist in charge.
• Maintains the pharmacy in good standing with all federal, state, board of pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Manages the pharmacy department to achieve expected service levels, financial goals, including budget, payroll, third-party administration, scheduling, and inventory management.
• Manages pharmacy support personnel functions, including job performance and review.
• Guides and trains pharmacy associates and holds them accountable for regulatory and company policies.
• Ensures all pharmacy associates complete required company training.
• Participates in patient-centered services such as immunizations, medication therapy management (MTM), and wellness programs.
• Counsels patients and medical providers regarding drug nature, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Maintains and participates in quality improvement programs to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains department facilities according to legal and company standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice.
• Immunization Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must submit to DL Monitoring.

Education and Experience

• 5-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.
• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing systems.
• Effective communication skills: verbal, written, and electronic.
• Strong leadership and ability to manage others.
• Ability to assign, prioritize, and evaluate the work of others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
