Pharmacist Manager

Summary

The Pharmacy Manager oversees the pharmacy's operations, ensures compliance with regulations, manages finances and personnel, provides patient care services, and maintains high standards for safety, quality, and legal compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Registers with state board of pharmacy as supervising pharmacist or pharmacist in charge.
• Maintains the pharmacy in good standing with all federal, state, board of pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
• Manages the entire operation of the pharmacy department to achieve expected service levels, financial goals including budget, payroll, third-party administration, scheduling, and inventory management to promote optimal financial viability.
• Manages pharmacy support personnel functions, including job performance and review.
• Guides and trains pharmacy associates and holds them accountable for regulatory and company policies.
• Ensures completion of company required training by all pharmacy associates.
• Participates in patient-centered services including immunization, MTM, and wellness programs.
• Counsels patients and medical providers regarding drug nature, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Maintains and participates in continuous quality improvement programs to ensure patient safety.
• Maintains department facilities consistent with legal and company standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice.
• Immunization Certification.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must submit to DL Monitoring.

Education and Experience

• 5-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy.
• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing systems.
• Effective communication skills: verbal, written, and electronic.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage others.
• Ability to assign, prioritize, and evaluate the work of others.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
