Job Summary

Joins SSM Health as a Pharmacist Coordinator to advance patient care through expert medication management and team leadership. The position opens in April 2026 and involves leading pharmacy operations, collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, and driving innovative solutions.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Develops and implements quality improvement activities and ensures compliance with patient care and medication practice standards.
  • Continuously assesses and improves the performance of pharmacy services provided.
  • Implements policies relevant to the operation of the department.
  • Assists in planning and implementing new concepts in drug distribution and control in accordance with established hospital policy and accepted standards of proper pharmacy practice.
  • Collaborates with other departments and management staff to establish checks and quality controls for quality of care.
  • Compiles reports and special studies as arranged or as specifically requested.
  • Serves as a consultant to support services and ancillary departments.
  • Supports pharmacy staff by assigning work tasks, training, and scheduling work shifts.
  • Precepts pharmacy students and residents, as applicable.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D; Bachelor of Pharmacy) from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Two years’ experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Able to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Rare climbing.

Professional License and Certifications

  • Resuscitation Certification Requirement: Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) within 90 days of employment.
