About the role

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option.

Responsibilities

  • Provides top of scope pharmacy support utilizing evidence-based protocols and best practices to promote safety at the point of care
  • Value and effectively partner with multidisciplinary team to achieve care outcomes
  • Prioritize wellness, a patient perspective and evidence-based practice
  • Model proficiency through precepting and mentoring those new to healthcare and/or UCHealth
  • Welcome new knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment
  • Contribute proactively to solutions to secure safety and quality at point of care
  • Ensure medications are prescribed, accurately dispensed, and administered according to best practices
  • Provide drug information and counseling to patients and caregivers regarding medication use, accurate dosage, potential side effects, and administration instructions
  • Stay current with updated medication formularies, new drug therapies, treatment protocols, and emerging medical research through continuous professional development and clinical education
  • Communicate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate collaborative care to ensure optimal outcomes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of Pharmacy
  • State licensure as a Pharmacist
  • Any relevant life support certification and/or relevant licensure/certification as determined at position level

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR)
  • Experience with hospital pharmacy operations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
