Pharmacist

About the role

This position ensures all prescriptions are filled accurately, legally, and in a timely manner according to regulations and facility requirements. You will prepare medications for final dispensing, review orders, verify legality and feasibility, interpret prescription orders, and adhere to all federal and state pharmacy regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare medications for final dispensing, including filling, order entry, and packaging
• Review completed orders and cycle-fill medications to ensure accuracy
• Verify the legality and pharmaceutical feasibility of dispensing drugs based on patient allergies, medication incompatibilities, and refill frequency
• Interpret prescription orders, exercising professional judgment for patient safety and legal compliance
• Adhere to all Federal and State Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Transfer prescriptions to other pharmacies as needed
• Answer questions from patients, doctors, and nurses
• Evaluate inventory levels and place orders when below par; identify cost-effective products for exceptions
• Notify customers/facilities of out-of-stock items and expected fulfillment times
• Restock station supplies (vials, cassettes, labels, delivery tickets, etc.)
• Oversee technician work and provide performance feedback to supervisors
• Log all medication error occurrences
• Perform other essential functions and duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (Pharmacy) or PharmD required
• State Pharmacist License without restrictions
• 1+ years of related experience
• Advanced computer skills; pharmacy operations system experience preferred
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and solve problems with minimal direction
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple tasks and strict deadlines
• Quality-focused mindset; motivated to identify and inquire about inaccuracies
• Medical consulting experience preferred

Work Environment

Ability to work flexible hours.

Pay

Starting salary range: $127,000–$134,000 based on experience.
