Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist - R&I Primary Care- Detroit, MI

The US BioPharma Respiratory and Immunology (R&I) Team leads in respiratory diseases like asthma, COPD, and IPF, with a pipeline extending to inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
About the role
As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist for the R&I Primary Care Team, you will leverage AstraZeneca’s scientific capabilities to positively impact patients’ lives by educating healthcare professionals and driving sales performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop superior product and disease state knowledge and educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing.
- Function independently to drive sales performance, meeting or exceeding therapeutic and territory expectations.
- Complete training requirements, including product examinations.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care information for your assigned territory.
- Partner with your District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop local strategies and business plans to increase sales.
- Capitalize on formulary approvals and opportunities using promotional, personnel, and analytical tools to enhance effectiveness.
- Provide special education to healthcare providers through programs within AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with other Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists to coordinate selling efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- A driver’s license and safe driving record.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, or pharmacy industry, preferably within Respiratory therapeutic areas.
- Prior sales experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capability.
- Results-oriented with strong time management skills.
- Ability to learn, analyze, understand, and convey complex information.

Pay
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $76,935 to $195,983, with variations based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include a short-term incentive bonus and equity-based long-term incentives (for salaried roles).
