The US BioPharma Respiratory and Immunology (R&I) Team leads in respiratory diseases like asthma, COPD, and IPF, with a pipeline extending to inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

About the role

As a Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist for the R&I Primary Care Team, you will leverage AstraZeneca’s scientific capabilities to positively impact patients’ lives by educating healthcare professionals and driving sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop superior product and disease state knowledge and educate healthcare professionals on clinical evidence, approved indications, and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing.
  • Function independently to drive sales performance, meeting or exceeding therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Complete training requirements, including product examinations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographic, and managed care information for your assigned territory.
  • Partner with your District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop local strategies and business plans to increase sales.
  • Capitalize on formulary approvals and opportunities using promotional, personnel, and analytical tools to enhance effectiveness.
  • Provide special education to healthcare providers through programs within AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists to coordinate selling efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 0-2 years of experience.
  • A driver’s license and safe driving record.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the medical, healthcare, or pharmacy industry, preferably within Respiratory therapeutic areas.
  • Prior sales experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capability.
  • Results-oriented with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to learn, analyze, understand, and convey complex information.

Pay

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $76,935 to $195,983, with variations based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation may include a short-term incentive bonus and equity-based long-term incentives (for salaried roles).

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
