About the role
The Medication History Pharmacy Technician is an essential member of the Department of Pharmacy at Long Beach Medical Center, playing a critical role in supporting accurate and safe medication use for patients across the health system.
Responsibilities
- Performs thorough patient medication histories and documents accurately into the electronic medical record.
- Participates in quality assurance programs by maintaining medication history data and reporting any significant medication errors.
- Demonstrates good customer services skills with colleagues and communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and other departments.
- Provides pharmaceutical care in accordance with law and regulations.
- Sets priorities and multitasks to support the direction and initiatives of the Department of Pharmacy.
Requirements
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in an inpatient hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy setting required.
- Current California Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
- Graduated from a Pharmacy Technician Training Program preferred.
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certificate preferred.
