About the role
The Southeast Health District is seeking a full-time, salaried PH Registered Nurse with the DPH Home Visiting program. The mission is to promote and protect the health of people in Southeast Georgia, providing support to individuals, families, and communities.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols and programmatic policies and procedures.
- Provide outreach, support, and education to the target population and their surrounding community to reduce disparities in birth outcomes.
- Provide community health and case management services to high-risk perinatal women, infants, and children primarily through home visitation.
- Record pertinent observations and responses to treatment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree/diploma in nursing from an accredited college
- Completion of a PHN Course within one year of hire
- Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
- CPR certification
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Bilingual-Spanish
- Appropriate interventions for high-risk prenatal patients
- Appropriate interventions for high-risk newborns and infants
- Home visitation experience
- One-year Labor and delivery experience
- One-year experience working in a prenatal care clinic
- One-year experience working with mothers and babies
