About the Role

Sets up cost control systems, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control systems. Performs analyses and prepares reports to ensure contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines. Prepares budgets and schedules for contract work and performs and/or assists in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis.

Prepares program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled. Performs schedule risk assessments to identify and mitigate program cost and scheduling risks. Ensures adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government. Incorporates contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines.

Role supports CVN New Construction, Virginia Class Submarine, and Columbia Class Submarine programs (Manufacturing, Outfitting, and Service & Support work scope at Charleston Operations). Maintains Earned Value Management Systems (budgeting, report building, and cost/schedule data analysis) for Charleston Operations direct labor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of relevant exempt experience; or
  • Master’s Degree and 8 years of relevant professional experience

One of the following may be used as equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:

  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2-year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
