PGD Engineer

Opportunity based in Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. This is a 1-year contract assignment (W-2).

About the role

You will apply a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. You will make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes and report to the Onsite Manager.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine troubleshooting guides for top fault codes across all inverter technologies.
• Develop fault code database and Do Not Reset (DNR) lists.
• Use AI to create troubleshooting guides and apply engineering principles to datasets to combine information.
• Act as a primary technical liaison between Solar Inverter Fleet Team, ROCC, and CWE, working independently on technical matters.
• Complete process improvement assignments with broad terms, general goals, and limitations.
• Work with individuals and OEMs within and outside the organization on technical matters about individual projects.
• Perform component failure rate analysis and develop work plans.
• Become a subject matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer.
• Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites.
• Assist field technicians and ROCC operators with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues.
• Help develop countermeasures for recurring issues.
• Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a bachelor’s degree in another engineering discipline with equivalent experience in electrical systems.
• 6+ years of engineering experience.
• Utility-scale inverter and power electronics experience.
• Ability to work with operations teams.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering preferred.
• 2 years of experience with solar inverters.
• Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
• Previous experience in operations support or control center environments.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $45.00/hr. to $50.00/hr., dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills.
