PFW - Athletic Trainer II

Primary Responsibilities

• Evaluation of acute and chronic athletic injuries
• Aid team physicians in athletic injuries
• Maintain ATR and work space cleanliness
• Develop and implement injury prevention strategies
• Practice and game medical coverage
• Acute treatment of athletic injuries
• Implement emergency action plans as needed
• Appropriately apply therapeutic modalities to student-athletes
• Develop and execute injury specific rehabilitation plans
• Aid with supply inventory and ordering
• File insurance claims for athletic injuries
• Maintain detailed medical records of student-athletes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field from a CAATE accredited athletic training education program
• 0–1-year experience in sports medicine, physical therapy and/or athletic training
• NATA-BOC certification and Indiana Athletic Training License, Indiana Physical Therapy License if employee has Physical Therapy degree
• Ability to carry and lift coolers of ice, water, and medical equipment
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy
• Frequent weekend availability

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Athletic Training or a related field from a CAATE accredited athletic training education program
