Responsibilities
- Provides athletic training services and/or supervision under the direction of a Team Physician.
- Communicates patient illness and injury complaints/problems with Team Physicians.
- Maintains a complete medical record.
- Manages patient care coordination with sports dietitians, sport psychologists, and KTH Counseling and Psychological Services.
- Coordinates clinical diagnostic testing and manages referrals to specialists.
- Executes participation status decisions and emergency medical management during practices and events.
- Manages ongoing patient conditions and executes emergency action plans.
- Evaluates, treats, and rehabilitates injuries using evidence-based techniques.
- Creates or co-creates rehabilitation programming and evaluates sport science programming.
- Provides wellness education to patients, coaches, support staff, administrators, and parents.
- Serves as a clinical supervisor for athletic training students.
- Participates in annual strategic planning and analysis of injury rates and trends.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Athletic Training, Physical Education, Health, or related field from an accredited college or university within 90 days of the hire date.
- At least 2 years of experience as an athletic trainer.
- Licensed Athletic Trainer (AT) - State Board of Healing Arts within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Athletic Trainer - Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC ATC) upon hire.
Skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with manual therapy preferred.
