PFAS Program Manager

About the Role

The PFAS Program Manager reports to the Executive Vice President, ESG, and is responsible for coordinating and advancing EKI’s national PFAS practice. This role combines technical project execution, practice development, internal coordination, client engagement, and business development. The PFAS Program Manager will serve as a catalyst for collaboration across EKI’s PFAS practitioners, connecting technical capabilities with client and market needs while working alongside PFAS technical experts, Regional Directors, Technical Directors, Principals, and Project Managers.

Responsibilities

• Advance EKI's PFAS practice by fostering knowledge sharing, developing training programs, supporting recruitment, identifying technical capabilities and gaps, and establishing priorities for continued development.
• Develop and expand PFAS opportunities with strategic clients by identifying needs, creating client-specific strategies, and aligning EKI’s capabilities with client requirements.
• Lead strategic pursuits by developing capture strategies, preparing and presenting major proposals, supporting interviews, and collaborating across the company to secure high-value projects.
• Strengthen technical standards, QA/QC protocols, workflows, best practices, and innovative approaches to promote technical excellence and high-quality project delivery.
• Monitor emerging regulations, research, analytical methods, and treatment technologies to advance EKI’s technical capabilities and competitive position.
• Enhance EKI’s external visibility and reputation through client and regulatory engagement, technical publications, presentations, and participation in industry conferences and committees.
• Serve in substantive technical and project leadership roles on PFAS projects, including developing investigation strategies, evaluating data, preparing technical work products, and communicating findings to clients and regulators.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant environmental and PFAS consulting experience.
• Professional Engineer license in the State of California or ability to obtain one following employment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop business opportunities and expand services within the environmental consulting industry.
• Excellent client management skills with a proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Proven track record managing complex environmental projects involving regulatory compliance and stakeholder coordination.
• Established relationships with regulatory agencies, industry organizations, and/or key industrial clients strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated professional engagement in the PFAS field through publications, conference presentations, regulatory engagement, or industry organizations.
• Proven project management experience, including leading multidisciplinary teams and managing budgets, schedules, scope, and quality.
• Ability to organize and lead collaborative initiatives across teams, offices, or technical disciplines, including influencing and building alignment without direct supervisory authority.

• Ability to lead multiple project teams and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment with high-volume workloads and frequent deadlines.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to personal and professional growth, including mentorship of others.
• Current valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-volume workloads and frequent short deadlines.
• Ability to obtain medical clearance to work on hazardous waste sites.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing or sitting) for prolonged periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively to exchange information.
• Ability to assess the accuracy, quality, and thoroughness of assigned work.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel, possibly overnight, for customer meetings and site visits up to 20% of the time.

Pay

The expected base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus based on individual and company performance.
