Petroleum Service Technician

About the role

A Service Technician will install, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment found in service stations and convenience gas stations, including fuel dispensers, submersible fuel pumps, service station site controllers, credit card readers, cash register consoles, pumping PCW, tank & line monitoring equipment, and other similar devices.

Responsibilities

• Work in a safe manner, understanding and complying with applicable fire safety, OSHA, and EPA rules and regulations.
• Understand and analyze equipment issues, and take appropriate action to resolve them professionally and efficiently.
• Perform necessary repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment according to specifications.
• Maintain tools required for effective and safe performance of tasks.
• Follow customer safety and housekeeping guidelines during repairs at customer sites.
• Resolve warranty calls on dispensers and tank monitors.
• Perform service calls as needed, including after-hours work.
• Provide break fix and preventative maintenance on service station electronics, computers, and fuel dispensing systems, including electronic, plumbing, and mechanical work.
• Ensure quality customer service by meeting expectations and completing assigned duties cost-effectively.
• Complete required prerequisite work to obtain and maintain certifications from original equipment manufacturers.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License
• High School Diploma or GED
• Familiarity with computer operations and an aptitude for learning computer skills
• Preferred: Gilbarco Dispenser certification and Veeder Root Tank Monitor certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to repetitively lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, standing for 8-10 hours per day
