SUMMARY
Oil and Petroleum Inspectors access client facilities to perform sampling and quantity surveys of various storage and transport vessels. The role requires critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Receive orders and gather paperwork from Operations Supervisor(s).
- Ensure equipment is in good condition and report to job-site punctually.
- Report to key meetings with external personnel.
- Represent Bureau Veritas by maintaining ethical behavior and professional conduct.
- Communicate any issues promptly to supervisor and complete required paperwork.
- Collect and label samples, calculate quantities, and deliver them to a laboratory for analysis.
- Maintain a 24-hour on-call status and attend company meetings as required.
Education And/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 – 4 years of related experience and/or training.
- Proficiency in relevant equipment and safety protocols.
Reasoning Abilities
- Solve practical problems and communicate effectively.
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Interpret technical reports and scientific formulas.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, use hands, and climb.
- Frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment
- Near moving mechanical parts and with explosive materials.
- Exposure to fumes, toxic chemicals, and electrical shocks.
- Risk of radiation.
