About the Role

As a PET Technologist, you will perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of PET scanners and related equipment, produce high-quality diagnostic images, and provide excellent patient care in a team-focused environment with dynamic cross-training and advancement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex specialized tasks associated with the operation of PET scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and company protocols.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images in a timely manner while providing excellent patient care.
  • Assist radiologists with imaging and interventional procedures, including starting IVs and injecting contrast if needed.
  • Guide patients through procedures by explaining steps and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Monitor patients’ well-being during exams; recognize discomfort or medical problems and take appropriate action.
  • Respond to physician questions and needs regarding patients.
  • Demonstrate competency in safeguarding patient property and Patient Health Information.
  • Safeguard on-site medications in accordance with company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Exhibit respect for company property, including cash and patient financial information.
  • Maintain professional behavior toward patients and coworkers, respecting patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities.
  • Interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.
  • Establish, nurture, and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Requirements

  • Current ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB certification with State Nuclear Medicine License.
  • Venipuncture certification/permit.
  • BLS certification.
  • At least one year of diagnostic imaging experience is preferred.

Pay

$50.00–$75.00 per hour.
