Responsibilities

  • Work in a team environment with all members of the Personal Insurance department, including the sales and management teams, to respond to clients' needs and requests and protect their assets.
  • Manage a book of business, building relationships with each account and ensuring activities are settled efficiently and accurately.
  • Assist clients with policy changes, renewals, and claims processing.
  • Advise clients on the company's "value" proposition, shifting focus from price to comprehensive coverage.
  • Conduct coverage and exposure reviews with existing clients to ensure adequate coverage at the time of a loss, including addressing adverse loss experience.
  • Contact new clients within 30-45 days of their new business effective date to introduce yourself, address outstanding issues, and confirm preferred communication methods.
  • Review potential non-renewal issues with management and discuss carrier eligibility for reinstatement or coverage rewrites.
  • Quote and issue mid-term rewrites as exposures change.
  • Review renewal increases over established thresholds, contact incumbent carriers for rate relief options, and involve the Placement Specialist team if marketing is required.
  • Contact clients who have cancelled or requested cancellation to determine reasons for their decision, establish controls to resolicit coverage, and discuss findings with the sales team and management.
  • Communicate directly with insurance company underwriters to resolve outstanding or potential issues and protect the client's insurability.
  • Document all interactions (phone calls, emails, meetings, letters) in the company system so any team member can assist the client.
