About the role
A growing plaintiff-side personal injury firm in Baltimore is adding a Pre-Litigation Personal Injury Attorney to its team. This is an opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working directly with injured clients and wants to own their own docket from initial treatment through settlement. This is a pre-litigation position, not a trial-focused role.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage a personal docket from initial treatment through settlement
- Work directly with injured clients throughout the pre-litigation process
- Manage a high-volume docket with significant direct client contact
- Handle auto and auto-adjacent personal injury claims
- Negotiate directly with insurance adjusters
- Utilize AI drafting tools or demonstrate willingness to learn
Requirements
- Maryland Bar admission in good standing
- At least 18 months of substantive pre-litigation or claims-side personal injury experience
- Demonstrated experience independently carrying and managing your own files
- Strong understanding of PIP, MedPay, UM/UIM, and policy limits demands
- Comfortable negotiating directly with insurance adjusters
- Strong client communication and case evaluation skills
- Comfortable working in a high-volume environment
Qualifications
- Experience handling auto and auto-adjacent personal injury claims
- Additional experience with premises liability and/or dog bite matters is a plus
Pay
- $70,000–$100,000 base salary, depending on experience
- 3% commission on pre-suit resolutions
- 5% commission on post-suit or mediation resolutions
- 8% commission on verdicts above the last written offer
- 30% origination commission on cases sourced outside the firm's marketing and referral channels, replacing the resolution commission on that file
