Description
- Provide comprehensive paralegal support to the firm owner in personal injury cases.
- Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Experience attending trial with attorneys, and preparing for trial.
- Cookcase management, including maintaining case files and tracking deadlines.
- Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Communicate with clients, attorneys, and other parties regarding case updates and necessary documentation.
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness materials.
- Manage and organize discovery materials, including document production and review.
- Handle administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the legal department.
Profile
- A successful Personal Injury Paralegal (Complex Litigation) should have:
- 5+ years of experience in personal injury law, ideally complex litigation.
- Extensive experience prepping for and attending trial.
- Spanish speaking candidates are strongly preferred.
- A strong understanding of NYS and NYC Statues, court rules, and legal procedures.
- Familiarity with SmartAdvocate (preferred but not required).
- NYS Notary Public license or willingness to obtain one.
- Excellent communication skills for client and attorney interactions.
- An attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
