Personal Injury Paralegal (Complex Litigation)

Description

• Provide comprehensive paralegal support to the firm owner in personal injury cases.
• Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
• Experience attending trial with attorneys, and preparing for trial.
• Cookcase management, including maintaining case files and tracking deadlines.
• Conduct legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
• Communicate with clients, attorneys, and other parties regarding case updates and necessary documentation.
• Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness materials.
• Manage and organize discovery materials, including document production and review.
• Handle administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the legal department.

Profile

• A successful Personal Injury Paralegal (Complex Litigation) should have:
• 5+ years of experience in personal injury law, ideally complex litigation.
• Extensive experience prepping for and attending trial.
• Spanish speaking candidates are strongly preferred.
• A strong understanding of NYS and NYC Statues, court rules, and legal procedures.
• Familiarity with SmartAdvocate (preferred but not required).
• NYS Notary Public license or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent communication skills for client and attorney interactions.
• An attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
