About the role
A Family Law Attorney with a minimum of 3–5 years of experience to join our reputable law firm. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal representation and counsel to clients facing various family law matters. Responsibilities
- Handle a diverse caseload of family law matters, including separations, divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and division of assets.
- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare pleadings and motions.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
- Conduct client consultations and effectively communicate complex legal concepts in a compassionate and understandable manner.
- Stay updated on changes in family law legislation and case law to provide the most accurate and up-to-date legal advice.
- Maintain client confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Carteret County Bar, judges and court personnel.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the State Bar and good standing in the state of North Carolina.
- Active license to practice law in North Carolina.
- At least 3–5 years of experience practicing family law, with a focus on divorce, child custody, and related matters.
- Strong knowledge of family law statutes, regulations, and court procedures.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach when dealing with clients.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
