Personal Care: Nursing Assistant

About the role

The Enhanced Living Nursing Assistant at Messiah Lifeways is responsible for providing essential support to patients and residents with daily living activities under the supervision of the nursing staff. This position offers the potential for growth into a Med Tech role after 90 days of employment and observation.

Responsibilities

• Aid residents with personal hygiene when needed
• Encourage and assist residents in performing activities of daily living
• Perform tasks related to personal hygiene and physical comfort of residents as required
• Communicate and respond appropriately to residents' needs
• Follow instructions from the Charge Nurse and/or Enhanced Living Director of Nursing for medical issues and medications
• Transfer residents from bed to chair, etc., with personnel assistance as necessary
• Report any changes in residents' physical condition, mental status, and appetites to the Charge Nurse

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Nursing Assistant training (preferred but not required)
• One year clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Proficiency in technology and systems management - Office Suite (Microsoft), POC, databases
• Team Collaboration - works effectively and cooperatively with residents, families, supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members
• Effective and efficient - skilled in both verbal and written communication across diverse audiences
• Highly organized and detail-oriented - maintains accuracy and focus in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
