About the role

Personal Care Assistant responsible for providing in-home care to clients, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Follow client-specific aide plans and complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets.
  • Assist with personal care including bathing, grooming, ambulating, and feeding.
  • Encourage client independence while utilizing safety precautions and infection control procedures.
  • Use special equipment such as walkers and wheelchairs as needed.
  • Perform secondary tasks including laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal preparation while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Respect client confidentiality, privacy, and rights, providing quality care within scope and seeking guidance when needed.
  • Assist with self-administration of medications (without direct administration) and report any changes in client condition or safety concerns.
  • Notify supervisors of any abuse, neglect, or unsafe environments.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School diploma preferred; ability to read and write required.
  • Minimum 6 months caregiving experience validated through references.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to perform personal care tasks, operate special equipment, and follow care plans.
  • Strong communication, attentiveness to safety, and respect for client privacy.

This role reports to the Home Care Manager or designated staff and emphasizes delivering compassionate, compliant, and safe care.
