About the role
Personal Care Aide responsible for providing basic personal care and support to clients in a home care setting.
Responsibilities
- Follow the client's care plan and complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheet.
- Assist with bathing, grooming, ambulation, meal preparation (including special diets), feeding, oral hygiene, and using assistive equipment like walkers and wheelchairs.
- Maintain safety, infection control, and a clean environment; notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or changes in client health.
- Respect client confidentiality, privacy, and rights while delivering quality care within scope of practice.
- Support clients' self-help efforts, encourage independence, and assist with secondary tasks such as light housekeeping and grocery shopping.
- Only assist with medication self-administration (not direct medication administration) and report any concerns of abuse or neglect.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma preferred; ability to read and write required.
- Minimum of 6 months caregiving experience validated through references.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to provide compassionate, safe, and respectful care while adhering to policies and procedures.
