About the role
Personal Care Assistant responsible for providing in-home care to clients, following individualized care plans, and ensuring safety and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, ambulation, and meal preparation, including special diet needs.
- Support clients with self-help activities and encourage independence.
- Utilize safety precautions, infection control procedures, and special equipment like walkers and wheelchairs.
- Perform secondary tasks such as light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping for clients.
- Complete daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Respect client privacy, confidentiality, and rights, and provide quality care within scope.
- Monitor client conditions, report any concerns or unusual changes to supervisors.
- Assist only with medication self-administration, not direct medication delivery.
- Report abuse, neglect, or unsafe environments immediately.
Qualifications & Skills
- High school diploma preferred; ability to read and write.
- Minimum of 6 months caregiving experience validated through references.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to follow care plans, use safety precautions, and communicate effectively.
