Personal Care Assistant

About the role

The Personal Care Assistant role involves providing essential in-home care services to clients, adhering to individualized care plans, and maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and grooming
• Support clients with ambulation and self-help activities
• Assist with limited transfers, standby transfers, and use of specialized equipment such as walkers and wheelchairs
• Prepare meals, including special diets
• Maintain safety protocols, infection control, and client confidentiality
• Document daily tasks via EVV or electronic timesheets
• Notify supervisors of any changes in client condition or safety concerns

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience

• Ability to perform all tasks within the scope of practice and seek guidance for unclear instructions
