Wendell Foster is seeking an energetic Person Centered Specialist for its Intermediate Care Facility in Owensboro.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
  • Complete routine checks to ensure the whereabouts and safety of individuals.
  • Prepare and submit written reports before leaving shift.
  • Frequently assist in pool and hydrotherapy sessions with individuals.
  • Work closely with the Quality Improvement Department and Person-Centered Trainers to implement person-centered practices.
  • Understand and respect individuals' rights and display dignity in interactions.
  • Report any suspected forms of abuse and follow the facility's reporting procedures.
  • Manage and maintain individuals' daily routines and activities.
  • Accompany individuals to appointments and community activities.
  • Assist with recreational and community activities as needed.
  • Provide transportation services for individuals, using WF's transportation program, city transportation, or personal vehicles.
  • Conduct, teach, and ensure the effectiveness of training programs related to individuals' service plans.
  • Report any individual's clothing and equipment needs or repairs to appropriate departments.
  • Report any interdisciplinary issues or concerns to supervisors or vice presidents.
  • Support the training of new Person Centered Specialists.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • First aid and CPR certification (training provided).
  • Effective communication skills, including with staff and individuals.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Knowledge of person-centered practices and care standards.

Pay

New hourly rate starting at $16.00.

Schedule

Hours vary based on resident needs, with some evenings and weekends expected.
