Permit Technician

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position is responsible for overseeing building inspections, enforcing local building codes, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all construction site inspections to ensure compliance with local and state building codes.
• Enforce local building codes and state regulations to maintain high standards of safety and quality.
• Review and approve building plans and permits according to established guidelines.
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers on building codes and regulations.
• Respond to complaints and issues related to building code violations.
• Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with building permit systems and software.
• Knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay

$60,000 - $70,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
