Permit Technician 1

Job Summary

SAFEbuilt is seeking a Permit Technician to join our team in the Gettysburg office in Adams County, PA. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of administrative/customer service experience, preferably in building and/or construction, and possess good time management, organization, and people skills.

Job Requirements

• Interfacing with all customers to service their building department related needs.
• Issuing and/or tracking permits through the permitting process, including application acceptance, plan review, inspections, and permit closure.
• Establishing and maintaining systems to ensure organized file management.
• Working with plans examiners and inspectors to develop and maintain consistent processes.

Skills/Knowledge

• Positive interaction with staff, customers, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills and permitting software experience.

Education/Experience

• 2+ years of administrative/customer service experience required.
• Building and/or construction knowledge or background preferred.
• Permitting and/or municipal experience is a plus.
• ICC Permit Technician Certification is a plus.
