About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have experience in plan review, inspection, and code enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Inspect construction sites to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
• Enforce building codes and regulations, issuing permits and citations as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, architects, and property owners to resolve issues and provide guidance.
• Keep abreast of changes in building codes and regulations and apply them appropriately.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection, plan review, or code enforcement.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work flexible hours, and pass a background check.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with building permit systems and software.
• Good understanding of safety protocols and risk management.

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with some evening and weekend work required for inspections.
