Essential Functions
- Responds to fire department–related inquiries and directs customers to the appropriate divisions within the Fire Department or other agencies, as necessary.
- Opens and reviews documents submitted as part of applications, permits, reports, or plan packages to ensure sufficiency for processing.
- Reviews submitted documentation and modifies or adjusts scopes of work, as appropriate, to align with departmental requirements.
- Completes workflow tasks and facilitates internal reviews by coordinating with applicable units and tracking application or request statuses.
- Prepares receipts and documentation related to payments or fees.
- May be assigned specialized administrative responsibilities, including but not limited to purchasing, human resources, or finance support.
- May supervise a small group of clerical subordinates.
- Maintains quality assurance reports, reviews workflows, and recommends procedural enhancements.
- Affords assistance with training staff on departmental processes and record-keeping procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- An equivalent combination of education beyond a high school diploma and at least one (1) year of the required clerical experience.
