Responsibilities
As our Permit Clerk, you'll play an essential role in ensuring our HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical projects stay on schedule by managing the permitting process from start to finish. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for residential and commercial projects.
- Coordinate with city permitting offices, municipalities, inspectors, and homeowners' associations.
- Schedule inspections and monitor permit and inspection status.
- Maintain accurate permit records and project documentation.
- Follow up on outstanding permits, inspections, and approvals to minimize project delays.
- Research permitting requirements, forms, and jurisdictional regulations.
- Communicate permit updates and project status with Operations, Sales, Dispatch, and field teams.
- Review job documentation for completeness and accuracy before permit submission.
- Support administrative projects and process improvements within the Operations team.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is highly organized with exceptional attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, and a strong communicator who enjoys working with people.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One or more years of administrative, permitting, project coordination, construction, dispatch, or customer service experience preferred.
- Previous permitting experience in Texas is highly preferred.
- Experience working with municipalities, inspection departments, or homeowners' associations is a plus.
- HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Construction, or Home Services experience is highly desirable.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to quickly learn new software.
