Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as course director for at least one course each semester and contribute to other team-taught courses or education programs each semester.
  • Advise undergraduate students in course selection for their programs of study, research opportunities, and career planning.
  • Work closely with faculty colleagues in Biochemistry and the vice chair for education to update the curriculum and develop new courses if necessary.
  • Maintain office hours for advising and aiding students.
  • Help oversee and maintain shared departmental resources for teaching undergraduate and M.S. students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, or related field.
  • Previous experience in teaching undergraduate biochemistry in the United States for at least one year as an instructor of record, with expertise in metabolism required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Pay

The annual starting base salary range for this position is from $80,000-95,000.
