About the Team
Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is an 83-bed acute care hospital offering services such as Cardiology, Emergency Services and a Level IV Trauma Designated ER, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Total Joint Replacement, Gastroenterology, Diagnostic Services, and more.
Responsibilities
- As a member of the Perioperative Team and under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse and/or an anesthesiologist, assists in the delivery of patient care to surgical patients in a safe and organized manner.
- Provides registered nurses with support for the delivery of patient care.
- Provides the anesthesiologist with support for the delivery of patient care in the various locations where anesthesia is provided.
- Maintains supplies and equipment; performs room turnover, terminal cleaning, and provides patient transport and environmental service support as needed.
- Provides patient transport throughout the facility.
- Environmental service support as needed, including but not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash and medical waste removal, and supply replenishment.
- Performs room turnover and terminal cleaning of rooms.
- Ensures all equipment is properly labeled, clean, in good repair, and restocked as necessary.
Requirements
- Job Requirements: High School diploma/GED or equivalent. BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Preferred Requirements: Two years of experience in a Perioperative Services Assistant position. One year of experience in environmental service support.
