Perioperative Support Tech

Job Summary

As a Perioperative Support Tech, you will perform self-directed activities crucial for the efficiency and smooth operation of the perioperative area(s), contributing to a safe, sterile, and organized surgical environment. Every day you will inventory, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and maintain OR equipment, while assisting in maintaining a clean OR environment and transporting patients. All tasks will strictly adhere to Standard Precaution guidelines and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Inventory, disassemble, clean, reassemble, and maintain OR equipment.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly OR environment.
• Assists with the flow of surgical instrumentation between processing and surgery.
• Reads OR schedule, anticipates needs, and sets up OR with required supplies and equipment for respective cases.
• Assists in transporting patients, including lifting, turning, positioning, and preparing them for surgical procedures.
• Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when transporting patients and when working in the OR.

Requirements

• Exceptional attention to detail.
• A proactive approach to maintaining the perioperative environment.
• A thorough understanding of safety protocols.
• One year of related work experience in an acute care hospital demonstrating attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire.

Preferred

• Post-high school training specific to health care (i.e., central processing, health care assistant).
• Work experience in perioperative or as a military medic/corpsman, upon hire.

Pay Range

$23.90 - $38.42 /hour
