Position Purpose
Assists with the planning, purchasing, installation, and preventive maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. Functions as a liaison to other departments regarding anesthesia supplies and equipment. Assists the Department of Anesthesia with patient care. Maintains work and storage areas for the Department of Anesthesiology.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance on anesthesia equipment, reports repairs needed, exchanges CO₂ absorber, assists with specialized equipment, and responds to anesthesia provider requests
- Collaborates with team members, maintains equipment/supply logs, cleans machines and carts daily and after each use, and ensures emergency supplies are stocked
- Assists with equipment tracking, requests maintenance as needed and responds promptly to pages
- Prepares rooms and sterile fields, works with Sterile Processing, verifies instruments/supplies, and prioritizes workflow
- Cleans and decontaminates instruments, educates ancillary staff, ensures safe transport, and performs other related duties
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in anesthesia
- Working knowledge of anesthesia equipment and procedures
