Perioperative Scheduling Specialist - Labor & Delivery - Full Time

Job Summary

The Perioperative Scheduling Specialist is responsible for scheduling surgical procedures and inductions for BEH Labor & Delivery. This person will ensure that the prenatal records are obtained before delivery, consents are received prior to patient arrival, and patient information is verified for accurate scheduling of deliveries. Communication skills and a working knowledge of CPT, DRG, and ICD10 codes are essential, along with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and all organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and organize inductions and OR procedures for BEH Labor & Delivery
• Maintain and audit patient accounts in Labor & Delivery
• Audit patient care reports and enter information into a database
• Interface with patients, physicians, and other organizational levels
• Perform various other related responsibilities as directed

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years healthcare experience
• Proficient typing and data entry skills
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology and CPT/DRG coding
