About the role

The School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University seeks a full‑time (12‑month), clinical track faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics. Stony Brook Medicine is Long Island’s premier academic medical center, integrating education, research and patient care across hospitals, schools and community‑based settings. Anticipated start date: as soon as possible.

Responsibilities

• Pre‑clinical, clinical and didactic teaching of all aspects of periodontics to dental students and residents.
• Support the school’s compliance with SBU, SBM and SDM best practices.
• Demonstrate growth in pedagogical skills and an aptitude for scholarship.
• Serve on select school committees and engage in school governance.
• Participate in the school’s affiliated faculty practice.
• Act as a role model and advocate for professionalism and high ethical standards in a health‑science educational setting.
• Foster strong, supportive relationships with students, residents, faculty and staff, promoting collegiality, collaboration and cultural diversity.

Requirements

• DDS/DMD (or foreign equivalent) degree from a
