About the role

The Performance Improvement Specialist supports quality assessment and performance improvement activities, including:

  • Quality monitoring
  • Evaluation
  • Facilitation of performance improvement projects
  • Education assessments and activities
  • Compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations, state licensure laws, VITAS policies, and regulatory/accrediting body requirements
  • Participation in company-wide quality initiatives
  • Response to medical record requests

Qualifications

  • Credential and license (as required) as a health care professional
  • Preferred: Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality
  • Preference: Knowledge of hospice operations and performance improvement concepts
  • Experience with data collection, basic statistics, and data analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience with spreadsheet and word processing programs
  • EDUCATION

    Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
