About the role

The Performance Assessment Engineer will develop analysis tools, track system development updates, and perform in-depth analysis of system performance. This role acts as a technical liaison between analysts and developers, translating findings into actionable tasks and presenting performance assessments to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop ad-hoc post-processing analysis tools and plots to assess and analyze system performance, preferably using Java, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Track development updates and perform analysis to detect regressions after code changes.
  • Collaborate across teams to perform deep-dive analysis of system performance using established metrics.
  • Act as the technical liaison between analysts and developers, translating analysis findings into actionable development tasks.
  • Create and present analysis documents and briefings for leadership to assess system performance.

Requirements

  • Experience: Generally has 3+ years of related experience. Relevant applied experience in Software Engineering is required.
  • Technical Skills: Programming languages including Java, C++, and Python. Experience with database management, networking, or data communications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with tooling such as Jenkins, HTCondor, or GitLab.
  • Experience with applying statistical distributions in hypothesis testing, model validation, and inferential statistics.
  • Experience with performing systems engineering for information systems.
  • Experience with creating and briefing chart packages for tooling or analysis performed.
  • Familiarity with modern computing hardware (servers, storage, VMs), architecture, and network practices.
