Performance and Claims Specialist - Hair Care

BASF’s Care Chemicals division is a globally leading supplier to the cosmetics, detergents and cleaning industries, also offering solutions for technical applications and crop protection. The Performance and Claims Specialist – Hair Care will join the Personal Care team in Tarrytown, NY (on‑site) to lead advanced in‑vitro hair performance testing, claims substantiation, and method development supporting new product innovation, customer projects, and scientific differentiation within the hair care portfolio. Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret in‑vitro studies to evaluate hair care product performance and support technical and marketing claims.
• Operate advanced hair characterization equipment, including Bolero Hair Motion Analysis System, Diastron Tensile Testing Systems, and Zwick Mechanical Testing Systems.
• Utilize and develop advanced imaging and image‑analysis techniques to assess hair fiber morphology, surface condition, damage, shine, curl formation, frizz behavior, color retention, and treatment efficacy.
• Develop innovative testing methodologies for evaluating hair strength, breakage resistance, curl retention, suppleness, conditioning, thermal protection, humidity resistance
