Per Diem Surgical Assistant
About the role
The Surgical Assistant will assist in the proper handling and sterilization of instruments and equipment, monitor and stock supplies, assist with cleaning, transport and transfer, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Monitor, stock, and fill supplies
- Clean the department
- Transport patients, supplies, and specimens
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements
This role requires knowledge and/or training in aseptic technique. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to perform transport and transfer based on physical, psychosocial, safety, and related criteria appropriate to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited nursing assistant/health care assistant training program
- Six months of experience in a healthcare setting

$21.15 - $29.63 per hour
Schedule
Per diem position requiring a minimum number of scheduled shifts to maintain employment: Monday-Friday day (6:45 a.m.-3:15 p.m.), or evening (3:00-11:00 p.m.) shifts. Saturday/Sunday weekend shifts (9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m.).
