Per Diem Medical Assistant

About the role

Rothman Orthopaedics is seeking a per diem Medical Assistant to support their operations in the Malvern, PA office. The position requires flexibility to assist in multiple offices and includes a variety of administrative and clinical duties.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room.
• Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room.
• Cleans and autoclaves instruments.
• Provides and scans proper paperwork into the chart for Physician's review.
• Obtains and records vitals per Physician's request.
• Pulls up x-rays, MRI's, CT's, and various studies.
• Assists patient with clothing when necessary.
• Disposes of bio hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation.
• Answers telephones in patient treatment areas.
• Requests, obtains and uploads reports from various facilities.
• Empties and restocks laundry.
• Sends Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative.
• Covers other areas in the office as directed by their manager.
• Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation.
• Completes pre-certifications for MRI's, injectable, and other Physician orders as necessary.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
• Handles specimens and labels them accordingly.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED
• Active CPR Certification
• Minimum of one year of experience in medical office preferred.
• Medical office procedures and medical terminology knowledge
• Computer skills including MS office

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fax logs
• Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
• Reads and responds to email communications within appropriate time frame.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $16.00 to $24.00 per hour.

Schedule

As needed, Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM (at least 2 days a week of availability is required!)
