Per-Diem Registered Nurse

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care and clinical support within Hope Christian Health Center's Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Recuperative Care Center (RCC) environments. The RN serves patients recovering from acute illness, injury, surgery, or hospitalization who require short-term medical respite services.

Responsibilities

• Greets individuals and patients
• Provides accurate, detailed, and succinct messages to providers and staff
• Completes patient evaluations and assessments
• Aids in patient admissions and discharges
• Starts and maintains IVs
• Maintains PICC lines
• Administers medications to patients
• Daily charts (Progress notes/MAR)
• Provides wound care
• Obtains and records patient vital signs and evaluates results
• Venipuncture and collection of urine specimens
• Administers injections and vaccinations
• Performs CLIA-waived testing
• Meds reconciliation
• Ostomy care
• General patient education and coaching
• Takes orders from appropriate medical staff
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment
• Prevents the spread of infection and disease
• Complies with HIPAA and protects patient information
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
• Maintains all BLS certifications and state licensure
• Attends and actively participates in staff meetings

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada
• Valid AHA Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling

• Ability to travel between clinic locations as needed
