Per Diem Pharmacist

About the Role

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy department. Assists in the training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies. Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the Kinney Standard of Practice to provide the highest quality health care service to customers.

Responsibilities

• Follows the Kinney Standard of Practice to dispense prescriptions and counsel patients.
• Performs all quality assurance steps to ensure a technically accurate prescription is dispensed.
• Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner, in accordance with company guidelines.
• Follows all State and Federal guidelines governing the practice of Pharmacy.
• Oversees the initial submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims.
• Manages and balances the pharmacy inventory to maximize turns while remaining in-stock for customer needs.
• Oversees the transmitting, processing, and receiving of orders to and from the Kinney Warehouse and additional suppliers as needed.
• Oversees the checking of pharmacy inventory for outdates and processing of all returns.
• Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with all state and federal guidelines.
• Ensures in-store pharmacy technology is used to its fullest potential for maximum return on investment and lifespan.
• Ensures outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all times.
• Ensures all loss prevention policies are followed by all employees and reports deviations to Loss Prevention.
• Assists in the implementation of all corporate pharmacy marketing, advertising, and promotional programs.
• Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
• Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and others in the health service professions.
• Maintains awareness of developments in the Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields and integrates them into practice.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding all patient information.
• Facilitates communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
• Assists in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within said guidelines.
• Assists in the training and development of all pharmacy department personnel, including use of the Kinney Pharmacy Clerk and Technician Training Program.
• Interfaces with various auditors and outside agencies, as needed.
• Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy (minimum).
• Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy.
• Ability to stand/walk throughout the majority of the shift.
• Certified Immunizer.

Special Conditions of Employment

• Drug test.

Pay

$56.10 - 66.72 an hour. The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience, and education.
