Per Diem Pharmacist

Department/Unit: Pharmacy | Work Shift: Per Diem (United States) | Salary Range: $116,823 – $186,917 annually (Min $43.14/hr – Max $71.78/hr)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care.
• Actively promote medication safety.
• Promote rational, cost‑effective use of medications.
• Deliver pharmaceutical care to patients of all ages at Albany Medical Center.
• Perform medication order and drug‑therapy review to improve patient outcomes.
• Prepare and dispense medications.
• Provide drug information.
• Monitor patient drug therapy.
• Collaborate with caregivers, patients, and families to optimize pharmaceutical care.
• Supervise and direct support personnel.
• Participate in training and development of staff.
• Provide professional services and leadership to the department, center, and community as needed.
• Work with management to continuously improve pharmaceutical care and services.
• Assume pharmacy supervisor/manager responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor for limited periods.
• Assist in advancing pharmaceutical care services.
• Serve as a recognized expert and leader, performing any appropriate functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited school (required).
• Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an ACPE‑accredited school (required).
• Experience in health‑system pharmacy practice (preferred).
• Demonstrated basic working knowledge of pharmacy practice.
• Ability to coordinate and supervise one or more departmental areas or functions as needed.
• Skills to improve overall quality of pharmaceutical care within the organization.
• Commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and role‑model development.
• Leadership capability in providing pharmaceutical care.
• PHARMD – Licensed Pharmacist.
• Current New York State pharmacy license (required upon hire).

Pay

Salary range: $116,823 – $186,917 per year (equivalent to $43.14 – $71.78 per hour).
