About the role

Seeking a board‑certified or eligible fellowship‑trained Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physician to join a dedicated team providing exceptional pediatric emergency care at a busy hospital’s Pediatric Emergency Department in Bethlehem, PA.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to pediatric patients during shifts from 11 AM to 9 PM, with ongoing efforts toward 24/7 coverage.
• Collaborate with pediatric‑trained nurses who are available around the clock.
• Utilize emergency medicine resident support during all shifts.
• Contribute to department expansion and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
• Fellowship‑trained in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

Skills

• Strong clinical skills in pediatric emergency care.
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.

Department & Environment

The role operates within a child‑focused emergency department currently comprising six beds, expanding to ten beds, and serving over 10,000 children annually. The department benefits from support from pediatric specialists across multiple disciplines, with inpatient and PICU facilities available 24/7. It is part of a large, diverse healthcare network providing comprehensive emergency and specialty care.
